NEW SINGLE: ONE MORE SUCH VICTORY
In Witch Tree lore, the idea of a Pyrrhic victory is a concept that dates back to the earliest days of the band. One More Such Victory was, in fact, the band name for Chad and James’ first show at the Terminal Bar in NE Minneapolis. Chad brought this song to the band after we had dropped the moniker. Enjoy!
(We, of course, appreciate purchases of this single to support the band, but, honestly, we recommend just waiting and getting the digital album instead, releasing soon, we promise!. There’s nothing unique about this version, compared to the album version).
NEW SINGLE: DENIAL
Hey all! Thank you so much for following Witch Tree!
We are relieved and excited to finally be wrapping up production of our debut LP. Of course, we won’t stop you from paying for this single—now available on bandcamp—but please feel free to wait until the album is released to pay for this track (the album version has a fun intro not included in this version).
We’re just excited to get some music out there! You can stream it here and it should be available on other streaming platforms shortly.
Watch for more singles, show notices, and an LP release date!
NEW EP: THE ROOT CELLAR SESSIONS
Available now for purchase on Bandcamp and streaming on Spotify, APPLE MUSIC, AND Youtube.
Back in 2015, Witch Tree put together an 8-song demo so venues and bands could hear what we sounded like when working on booking shows.
We originally planned to re-record all these tracks for our first proper release but as our style evolved it felt more difficult to put together a cohesive package of the songs we had ready to go. We decided to pick some of the songs from the demo tracks that still accurately represented how we played them live and had Danny Anton Productions remix and remaster them. Danny really went above and beyond with refining the demo tracks we gave him and what we’ve ended up with is a great sounding EP of five songs.
The remaining three songs from the demo will be re-recorded and included on our forthcoming LP, Be a Great Sea.
NEW SINGLE: DAMN WELL
We are excited to release the single of Damn Well, from our forthcoming EP, The Root Cellar Sessions.

LYRICS
VERSE
You know damn well how to get me to that place
and just how hard it is to get back
And I know damn well what you’re trying to say
and you don’t even have to ask
CHORUS
But we do it anyway
Just put off the pain another day
VERSE
We’re so well received as we rationalize
that this is going to be the end
But no truth is held in those desperate lies
and it all falls down again
CHORUS
So we do it anyway
Just let it slide another day
SOLO
VERSE
And you know damn well, yeah we both knew all along
Inspiration hits when everything else has gone wrong
Resolve renewed, yeah we saunter forth again
Determined this time, this is it
But we know damn well we’re as weak as we’ve ever been
and the failure seems so imminent
CHORUS
But we do it anyway
Just put off the pain another day
Yeah we do it anyway
And live false hope another day
